The extra virgin olive oil is the rock of Italian culinary tradition. Typical product of the Mediterranean area, it is grown throughout the Peninsula and appreciated by the whole world. Rich in monounsaturated fat and antioxidants, extra virgin olive oil is an ingredient of many beneficial properties. And that's why you will always find a bottle on the table!

Choose wellness, choose extra virgin

Extra virgin olive oil contains oleic acid and vitamins A and E. These elements help to prevent the development of free radicals in the early stages, protecting the cell from oxidative damage and, therefore, premature aging. Associated with phytosterols (plant-derived substances that contribute to lowering the rate of bad cholesterol), it plays an important role in the prevention of chronic conditions such as degenerative diseases of the nervous system, cardiovascular diseases, and certain types of cancer. Finally, the oleocanthal present in the oil has anti-inflammatory effect.

Healthy diet: do not give up the extra virgin olive oil

Extra virgin olive oil has valuable anti-inflammatory, emollient, and protective actions and stimulus in different areas of the body:

  • Skin: provides protection from skin changes
  • Pancreas: stimulates the production of digestive enzymes

The secrets to good quality oil

Remember, it is only the extra virgin olive oil that holds such beneficial properties. Other oils, in fact, do not guarantee the body with the same protective actions. Olive oil is produced according to specific standards, useful to defend its effectiveness. How to get a good quality oil?

The harvest period is fundamental and must match the olives' color change (from green to brown). A cold early press, meaning a waiting time between harvesting and processing, allows to obtain a high quality oil since the oil has not yet undergone the oxidation processes.
