Junk foods create dependency: that is the reason why the more we eat them the more we want them! The risks are, however, too high: junk foods harm our health and promote the development of short term and long term medical conditions.

Junk food is an enemy of the brain

Junk food is rich in AGES: products formed during the final glycosis from the reaction of the proteins and fats with sugar. These products are known to be responsible for the development of diseases such as type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer.

According to a study conducted by researchers at the University of California in Los Angeles, AGEs affect negatively the mental activities, inducing a sense of fatigue that slows brain functionality. This effect would explain why people suffering from obesity are often listless and lacking in strength.

To fight depression: load up on fruits and vegetables!

According to a study published in the International Journal of Obesity, the substances introduced through junk food would promote disorders related to depression. The researchers found that diets rich in industrial products stimulate the development of depressive symptoms, in contrast to the good humor and vitality that characterize the day of those who eat fruits and vegetables. The presence of antioxidants, vitamins and fatty acids contributes, in fact, in a healthy and joyful life.

Psycho-physical wellness has a close relationship with your diet: this relationships is established since the early months of life of a newborn, when he starts learning new foods and establishes the beginning of his nutritional habits.

Junk food and its risk for the skin

A study conducted by researchers at the Auckland University shows that the increased risks of asthma and eczema in children and adolescents is related to excessive consumption of saturated fats (found in high amounts in fast food). According to the experts, these substances decrease the defensive ability of the immune system, exposing children to the risk of allergies.
