Food comparable to the organs of the human body

Have you ever noticed that grapes appearance reminds that of the lungs or that walnuts resemble very much the brain? It is bizarre, but there are foods that follow exactly the shape of our bodies, and that - on these - have incredible benefits. The interest in the similarities between food and body is of ancient origin: as early as the sixteenth century, in fact, this connection was being investigated to understand how to cure many diseases in a natural and effective way.

In this sense, it comes to mind the famous quote by Hippocrates: "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be they food" which, on this blog, we try to always apply. Nutrition is the first responsible factor for our well-being, and we should remember it every time we gather at our dinner table or prepare a varied menu for our guests!

What are the foods that resemble our organs?

  • Walnuts - Brain: in addition to the great resemblance, there is a well-known health relationship. Rich source of omega 3, antioxidants, folic acid and vitamin E, walnuts have great effects on the brain than other nuts. A practical tip for improving the absorption of their enzymes before eating, soften in water!
  • Beans - Kidney: rich in vitamins A, B, C, and E, minerals salts and low minerals they also contain lecithin, a phospholipid that helps reducing the cholesterol level. They heal and help maintain healthy kidney functions as well as giving a high satiating power.
  • Grapefruit - Breast: the mammary glands are very similar to ripe citrus fruits and, from them, extract a valuable assistance for lymph movements. In addition, grapefruit contains limonoids, useful substances known to inhibit the growth of tumors.
  • Avocado - Uterus: its oblong shape resembles that of the uterus and it is rich in folic acid: an element that reduces the risk of cervical abnormalities. For these reasons, the avocado is recommended to prevent cancer and to ensure health of the fetus.
