Carbonated drinks (sodas) are very very bad for you. In spite of images and misleading advertising, sugary drinks and their richness in acids do not bring happiness to the table, but disastrous effects to the health condition of the body!

The damage of carbonated drinks

Soft drinks are identified among the "non-food" items most dangerous to one's health. They are the main cause of the spread of diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and tooth decay

Strongly discouraged by doctors and specialists in weight loss, the sugary drinks should be eliminated from the diet of adults and children to avoid unpleasant physical consequences. Cellulite, water retention, and premature aging: the effects of soft drinks will not spare you! Years ago, a study conducted by doctors of the Harvard University, showed the danger of phosphoric acid, responsible for the sweet taste of the drinks and the number one enemy of skin, muscles, heart and kidneys.

Negative effects on the body

After taking carbonated beverages, the body records:

  • A rapid decrease of potassium levels in the blood: this condition causes muscle weakness and heart problems. Potassium loss is mainly due to the presence of glucose, fructose and caffeine, which are the main ingredients of the most popular soft drinks.
  • Liver problems: the function of this organ is the blood purification. The consumption of carbonated soft drinks forces the liver to work harder, causing weakening and exhaustion.
  • Weakening of the kidneys: responsible for filtering liquids, if forced to purity the acid contents of the soft drinks passing by through this important organs could combine them with other substances and form kidney stones. You won't necessarily get to this point but, in the long run, it would nonetheless cause kidneys' weakening.
  • Weight gain: sodas contain many sugars, responsible for the weight gain and diabetes risk.
  • Tooth decay: acid content in soft drinks dissolve the enamel and, together with sugar, speed up the process of tooth decay.

Risks related to phosphoric acid

The phosphoric acid, main component of many carbonated beverages, is responsible for the weakening of the bones: this substance consumes the entire skeletal structure by lowering the level of calcium in the body and creates favorable conditions for the development of diseases related to bone structure, such as arthritis and osteoporosis. In addition, the acids plays a negative role for the acid-base balance of the stomach, causing inflammation that promotes damage to the digestive system.

Usage of artificial sweeteners in the production of carbonated soft drinks is a further damage to your health: scientific studies show the relationship between the consumption of food additives and the risk of cancer. Moreover, the harmful nature of that refined white sugar is now confirmed and, for this reason, it is good to eliminate any food that contains excessive doses.
