An announcement published on the accredited journal "Circulation", Professor Eric Rimm of the Harvard Medical School showed that the intake of strawberries and blueberries significantly improves the elasticity of blood vessels and the cleanliness of their inner walls, decreasing the risk of atherosclerotic plaques.

These fruit varieties are composed of specific substances called bioflavonoids and anthocyanins, which have a positive effect on the cardiovascular system. The first act by strengthening the walls of the smaller blood vessels, counteracting the attacks of pathogenic organisms and eliminating the waste products of the cells.
